G Alex Caruso lands contract extension from Thunder

Mandatory Credit: Rhona Wise-Imagn Images The Oklahoma City Thunder agreed to a contract extension with veteran guard Alex Caruso on Sunday, with ESPN reporting the deal at four years and $81 million.
A standout on defense, Caruso has averaged 5.7 points with 2.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and a career-best 1.9 steals in 19 games this season, his first with the Thunder. Caruso, 30, was traded from the Chicago Bulls in the offseason for Josh Giddey.
In eight NBA seasons, Caruso has scored 6.8 points with 2.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals in 382 games (130 starts) for the Los Angeles Lakers (2017-21), Bulls (2021-24) and Thunder.
Caruso was named first-team All-NBA defense in 2022-23 and a second-team pick last season. He was 10th in NBA Defensive Player of the Year voting last season and 11th in 2022-23.
